Simulation and analysis that was once difficult to model is no longer impossible for designers and engineers. Users with little or no simulation experience can quickly deploy simplified and automated workflows to optimize product designs. 

Advances and improvements with this release include advanced meshing for computational fluid dynamics (CFD), solving automotive radar scenarios, digital twins, 3D design exploration, and structural modeling.

ANSYS Discovery AIM 19.2 Rapid Results

The rapid results feature in ANSYS Discovery AIM adds simplicity and speed into the post-processing step of simulation. With this enhancement, you can more easily interact with your results and extract your data faster.

ANSYS Discovery AIM 19.2 Explode Views

Exploded views in ANSYS Discovery AIM are an excellent way to visualize hard-to-see details in large assemblies. Using the dynamic slider, you can set the distance of separation to quickly find important details impacting boundary conditions and contacts between components.

3D Design

ANSYS 19.2 offers real-time simulation with ANSYS Discovery Live and ANSYS Discovery AIM which empowers engineers to further explore designs and concepts in greater depth before validation through ANSYS flagship products. These products incorporate rapid CAD modeling capabilities and easy-to-use engineering simulation. Techniques for fluid calculations are more accurate and parameter studies became an interactive experience that gives faster insight to simulation results. 

 

Electromagnetics

ANSYS is dedicated to an accurate, automated, easy-to-use, multiphysics, and multi-technology-based workflow in their new release. ANSYS 19.2 new features include ADAS/automotive radar, large-target radar cross section (RCS) analysis, integrated electrothermal analysis, an innovative electric machine design kit, and new hybrid simulation techniques for printed circuit board (PCB) analysis. This simulation software gives you the ability to simulate behavior of materials, automate the design flow for electronics and electrical applications, understand the temperature and structural effects on electrics systems. You can now design for wireless communication, autonomous, and electrification technologies and understand how components are powered.

 

Embedded Software

ANSYS Scade make it easier for you to design your embedded system architecture and verify safety-critical embedded code. The ANSYS SCADE Suite includes improvements to the design verifier and the Simulink importer. There is an addition of Jama from Jama Software to supported requirements manageability tools so you can export SCADE artifacts as surrogate models in Jama for bidirectional generation of matrices.

 

Fluids

ANSYS 19.2 has improvements in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations with a task-based workflow for watertight geometries that support Mosaic meshing for more accurate flow resolution. The software also includes ANSYS Chemkin Enterprise for fast, accurate combustion and reacting flow simulation and ANSYS EnVision Pro for a new way to review EnSight data.

 

Multiphysics

ANSYS 19.2 introduces System Coupling 2.0 – an updated version of their multiphysics coupling engine that leverages high-performance computing (HPC) resources to map data significantly faster.

 

Optical

ANSYS SPEOS is now a part of the ANSYS Optical solutions family – SPEOS lets you design and simulate illumination and the optical performance of systems to save on prototyping time and costs.

 

Structures

ANSYS Mechanical offers new inverse analysis, enhanced materials modeling, and topology optimization. Hot-to-cold (or inverse) analysis accurately calculates ‘cold’, or unloaded, shape to achieve desired ‘hot’ shape and performance. ANSYS 19.2 includes a new Material Designer feature that creates detailed models of fiber-filled, woven, or lattice materials and then calculates equivalent properties for large-scaled simulations. There is also additional loading options, manufacturing constraints that are ideal in additive manufacturing (3D printing) and unique lattice optimization capability.

 

Systems

ANSYS 19.2 delivers new capabilities in the ANSYS Twin Builder – a powerful product that allows you to build, validate, and deploy digital twins.Now you can visualize 3D fields of static reduced order models (ROMs) in Twin Builder and view simulation results like velocity and flow rate on the 3D geometry. The Modelica library has been enhanced for battery cell modeling. ANSYS Medini Analyze improves workflow and speeds development of semiconductors used in the automotive and autonomous vehicles. This solution helps semiconductor manufacturers in the automotive domain with dedicated ISO 26262 support to meet safety regulations. The ANSYS VRXPERIENCE solutions are bundled for virtual reality (VR) simulation and validation needs for interior and exterior lighting, autonomous vehicle (AV) simulation, and lidar in one package.

ANSYS Discovery Live 19.2 Rotating Boundaries

With the latest release of ANSYS Discovery Live, you can account for the angular velocity of rotating components in a fluid simulation. This is especially useful for understanding the effect of wheel rotation on a vehicle and observing real-world trends in your virtual designs.

ANSYS Discovery AIM 19.2 Physics Aware Meshing

Thanks to a new curvature-based meshing technique in ANSYS Discovery AIM, you don’t have to identify high-stress concentrations before solving. Small features, such as fillets and holes, are automatically defined — with higher resolution. Discovery AIM finds these areas and reveals stresses you may have otherwise overlooked.

ANSYS Fluent Mosaic Meshing for CFD Simulations

Mosaic from ANSYS brings such an expression to engineering simulation. An all-new meshing technology for Fluent simulations, Mosaic automatically combines any type of boundary layer meshing with high-quality polyhedral meshes for fast and accurate flow resolution.

A Comprehensive Solution for Developing Autonomous Vehicles

This demo video shows how ANSYS solutions for autonomous vehicles (AVs) can work together to provide a complete solution for designing and simulating AVs, including lidar and sensors, functional safety and safety-critical embedded code — all simulated through virtual reality to reduce physical road testing requirements.
