Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is the process of managing product development from ideation to end of life. Check out this article to learn more.

What does a PLM system do?

PLM software aggregates product data from many disconnected systems within your organization to a single location for all stakeholders involved. It enables teams in design, development, manufacturing, and more to work collaboratively with one source of comprehensive, accurate, up-to-date information. Otherwise called a single source of truth.

What is the difference between PLM and PDM?

The difference between Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Development Management (PDM) is that PDM manages specific data, whether design or productivity, regarding the product development process, while PLM focuses on the product development and manufacturing process in it’s entirety and how it impacts the lifecycle of the product.

Why do companies need PLM?

Properly managing product information and intellectual property is critical to a successful business. PLM’s single source of truth enables companies to achieve their business objectives. Optimizing product data across the enterprise results in reducing costs, increasing quality, streamlining operations, and improving productivity.

Mike Goetz

Senior Engineer, Augustine Die and Mold Inc.

I started my career using SolidWorks, then I switched to Pro/ENGINEER which is now Creo. Creo Parametric, in my opinion, is the best CAD software available. I have noticed recently that files created in Solidworks tend to have solid modeling issues and make it difficult to design to the solid models needed. The reputation and performance that Creo has definitely surpasses any other software on the market.

PTC Creo Parametric is more intuitive and there are more options. It is more of a direct input environment and it seems to be a bit more professional.

I have seen a lot of Value Added Resellers in my day – some good some bad.  After working with the EAC team for the past several years, I can attest to their knowledge and dedication.  They are among the best of the best.  They have always gotten back to me promptly with the correct answers to help me get over or around any Creo speed bumps.
